After two years in design and build, the next generation of foiling catamaran, the TF35 boat zero has been launched on Lake Geneva. For the very first time, Ernesto Bertarelli's team Alinghi has been able to test the new foiling machine.
"The feeling, it's like skiing in powder, it is really soft, you don't hear anything but the vibration of the foils," explains Arnaud Psarofaghis, mainsail trimmer for Alinghi.
"Strangely it feels like a big boat, everything is very quiet, very stable," adds bowman Yves Detrey.
The TF35 boat zero is currently available for each of the eight TF35 teams to use for a week at a time to start the training process ahead of the 2020 season. First to take to the water was Guy de Picciotto’s team Zen Too followed by Alinghi and next week it will be the turn of Spindrift racing. The full team announcement will be made in the coming weeks.
Building towards the 2020 season, the TF35 class is proud to announce Pelle P as clothing partner for the TF35 Trophy. The innovative Swedish brand will use the new TF35 as a platform for the continued evolution of its technical clothing.
